Antigone
MARCH 16-17 @ 7:30PM MARCH 18 @ 6:30PM Presented by the IStage Performance Ensemble Adapted by Don Taylor Directed by Nikki Kaplan Assistant Directed by Alison Gee Choreographed by Sara Herrera Please be advised, there are some moments of strong language. Recommended for audiences age 13 and up. Eteocles has been given a proper burial, but Creon, Antigone’s uncle who has inherited the throne, has issued a royal edict banning the burial of Polyneices, who he believes was a traitor. Antigone defies the law and buries her brother, placing personal allegiance before politics, a tenacious act that will trigger a cycle of destruction. It is a searing tale of love, power, the greater good, and the question of who decides the rule of the law – the government or its people. Combining the mediums of acting, physical theatre, and dance, the IStage Performance Ensemble brings modern theatricality to this revered classic.
