This camp is intended for students aged 3.5-5. The universe is massive, so let’s go on an adventure through space! Put on your space suit as we zoom through the stars, create new planets, become astronauts, or fly a space shuttle. Students use their actor tools of body, voice, mind, and imagination to explore the farthest reaches of space. Teaching artists lead students through an exploration of a story or concept based on the camp theme using drama, visual art, music, or movement to bring the story to life. These play-based lessons build an arts vocabulary as students embody each day's exciting new characters and settings while promoting confidence and self-esteem. A typical day at camp begins with free-play stations, followed by interactive story time, a drama activity, snack break (snack is brought from home), a movement or dance activity, visual art, and a closing activity. At the end of the session, campers share these adventures (and their newly sharpened theatre arts skills!) in an informal sharing for friends and family on the last day of camp.
