To call cut or not to call cut? That is the question. With this camp, there is no question; you can do both! In the morning, students learn the basics of acting for the camera. Students tackle the unique challenges of acting in front of a camera such as filming scenes out of sequence, adjusting for different shots, and consistently hitting marks through multiple takes as they film and act in short scenes.
In the afternoon, students flip the script. Well, if there was one. It has to be written first! Students learn the basics of playwriting including creative characters, fantastical settings, and compelling plots. Through on-your-feet games or tickle-your-brain writing prompts, students work together with peers to create amazing scripted scenes, monologues, and short shows.
Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks. Week-long after-care is available (4:00-6:00 p.m.).
