In the morning, capture your good side with Acting for the Camera. This camp gives students the opportunity to work in front of a camera and in front of a live audience. Campers are introduced to a variety of exciting and challenging film-specific needs such as shooting scenes out of order (sequencing), blocking (consistency and hitting your mark), and film shots (adjusting for close-up shots and wide shots).
And in the afternoon? Uh… we’ll make it up when we get there! Improvisation, the art of acting without a script, is the ultimate in creative freedom. Through clever games, students learn the rules of improv, how to keep a scene alive, and make their partners look good. A collaborative experience, this camp challenges students to step out of their comfort zone and let collective creativity be the star!
Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks. Week-long after-care is available (4:00-6:00 p.m.).
