This camp is a comprehensive immersion into Hollywood-style filmmaking. The fast and intensive pace is designed for students with some, little, or no experience in filmmaking. During the first week, campers write a short script and learn cinematography and editing techniques as well as the pre-production design process of making a film. The second week is focused on production, in which teams go on-location to film their movie. Students rotate through crew positions, such as camera operator, sound technician, and director, using our state-of-the-art equipment. In the final week, campers work individually or in small groups to edit their film and add their own aesthetic touch. The camp culminates in a premiere film screening on the last day. A professional filmmaker directs and teaches this camp, and film students from colleges across the country lead the small film teams over the three weeks.
