WAITLIST 1206 Magic Suitcase
Ages 4-5
August 19-23
9:00-12:00
1 Week
Imagination Stage
$275
The suitcase’s lid is covered with faded stickers from far off destinations and the hinge is barely attached. You don’t know what’s in there, but you can be sure whatever it is will inspire your next magical adventure. Mittens for an arctic adventure? Sunglasses for a trip to the desert? Grandpa’s watch for a trip back in time? Open the magic suitcase to find out where we’re going! Students work together to explore stories that coordinate with the destination of the day through dramatic play, movement, music, and visual art. Students also use simple props and prompts to create characters and bring stories to life. This camp encourages creative expression and promotes self-esteem while working on skills such as active listening, problem-solving, and sharing. Pack your suitcases and join us on a magical journey!
A typical morning at camp begins with free-play stations, followed by interactive story time, a drama activity, snack break (snack is brought from home), a movement or dance activity, visual art, and a closing activity. At the end of the session, campers show off their newly sharpened theatre arts skills in an informal sharing for friends and family on the last day of camp.
