Jump into a new adventure every day in this interactive storytelling experience! Each camp day, students explore a different book, using its pages as a springboard for creating characters and collaboratively acting out stories. Students learn to use their actor’s tools of body, voice, mind, and imagination to bring adventures to life while building literacy skills and exploring story structure through dramatic play. Activities are designed to encourage creative expression and promote confidence and self-esteem. Bring your imagination and dive into a stack of storybooks with us!
A typical day at camp begins with a full group welcome and warm up, followed by themed free-play stations, a creative drama activity, a snack and movement break (snack is brought from home), visual art, and an exploratory musical moment before heading to lunch and recess. The afternoon provides more time to engage in themed play stations, a drama or music workshop with special guest instructors, an interactive story activity, and a final group closing featuring silly songs, skits, and camper spotlights. At the end of the session, campers show off their newly sharpened theatre arts skills in an informal sharing for friends and family on the last day of camp.
Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks.
After-care is available from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
