In the morning, students make it all up! Improvisation, the art of acting without a script, is the ultimate form of creative freedom. Through short form improvisation games and exercises, students learn the rules of improv, how to keep a scene alive, and how to make their partners look good. This collaborative camp challenges students to step out of their comfort zones while sharpening their skills in quick thinking, flexibility, and active listening. Campers will be experts at playing Party Quirks, New Choice, and well…Expert in no time!
Once Upon a Time…things weren’t quite as we remembered. In the afternoon, students jump into a world of classic tales and are tasked with using their skills in script writing, acting, and character creation to imagine new twists of the original stories. Storytelling, crafts, games, and creative scene work allow campers to bring their new works to the stage. Do they all still live happily ever after?
Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks. Week-long after-care is available (4:00-6:00 p.m.).
