To call cut or not to call cut? That is the question. With this camp, there is no question; you can do both! In the morning, students tackle the unique challenges of acting in front of a camera such as filming scenes out of sequence, adjusting for different shots, and consistently hitting marks through multiple takes as they film and act in short scenes. Lights, camera, action–let your acting journey begin!
In the afternoon, students get to make it all up! Improvisation, the art of acting without a script, is the ultimate level of creative freedom. Through short-form improvisation games and exercises, students learn the rules of improv, how to keep a scene alive, and how to make their partners look good. This collaborative camp challenges students to step out of their comfort zone and let collective creativity be the star!
Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks. Week-long after-care is available (4:00-6:00 p.m.).
