To call cut or not to call cut? That is the question. With this camp, there is no question; you can do both! In the morning, students learn the basics of acting for the camera. Students tackle the unique challenges of acting in front of a camera such as filming scenes out of sequence, adjusting for different shots, and consistently hitting marks through multiple takes as they film and act in short scenes. Lights, camera, action–let your acting journey begin!
In the afternoon, chassé away from the camera and towards the dance floor! Students dance through the popular, infectious score of Broadway’s Matilda including favorites such as “Revolting Children” and “When I Grow Up.” Campers explore foundational dance techniques, begin to build strength and flexibility, and learn to express emotion and character through choreography. Campers apply their technique work to choreographing Matilda songs that are sure to be anything but revolting!
Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks. Week-long after-care is available (4:00-6:00 p.m.).
