In the morning? Uh… we’ll make it up when we get there! Improvisation is the fun and challenging performance form that encourages spontaneous character creations, the unraveling of story in real time, hilarious conflicts, and comedic timing. Performers have to actively listen and contribute to the story in ways that keep the scene going and make their partners look good. Important acting skills are developed such as active listening, clarity of choices and intent, confidence, and teamwork.
In the afternoon, bring the Plastics to Imagination Stage! Campers learn and stage 2-3 musical numbers from the hit Broadway show Mean Girls, while diving into character and story within the songs. Throughout the week, campers engage in acting and singing exercises and develop their understanding of ensemble and musical theatre staging to bring out lively performances on stage. And don’t forget…. on Wednesday we wear pink.
Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks. Week-long after-care is available (4:00-6:00 p.m.).
