In this fun and active class, students learn the basics of Improvisation, the art of acting without a script. Students exercise their creativity and develop skills that allow them to be spontaneous and adaptable on stage! Challenges include theatre games, short-form scenes, and creating dynamic characters, environments, relationships, and stories—all on the spot! Students build a solid and caring ensemble with their classmates to create an environment of trust and bravery, allowing for the free flow of fun (and funny) ideas! Actors are encouraged to make bold choices that keep the story going. Classwork culminates in an informal sharing of improv games where students can demonstrate the skills they have been developing throughout the semester.
