In this fetch class, students deepen their musical theatre skills while exploring the music from the popular musical Mean Girls. Gaining strong technique training in both acting and singing, performers deepen their understanding of character (making physical character choices, identifying motivating actions, thinking through intention, etc.). Vocal work addresses posture and breathing as well as challenging students to stretch the range of their voices. Inspired by the characters of Mean Girls, students explore how to portray a character through song. Classwork culminates in a final sharing on the last day of class with a performance of 2-3 numbers from the show.
