The lid is covered with faded stickers from far off destinations, and the hinge is barely able to contain the things inside. You don’t know what’s in there, but you can be sure whatever it is will take you on an adventure. Mittens for an arctic excursion? Sunglasses for a trip to the desert? Grandpa’s pocket watch for a trip back in time? Open the magic suitcase to find out where we’re going today! Students work together to explore stories that coordinate with the destination of the day through dramatic play, movement, music/vibration, and visual art. Students also use simple props and prompts to create characters and bring stories to life. Classes encourage creative expression and promote self-esteem while working on skills such as active listening, problem-solving, and sharing. Classwork culminates in a final sharing for families on the last day of class. Pack your suitcases and join us on a magical journey!
American Sign Language (ASL) is the lead language in this class. Support is provided for those who are still learning ASL.
Deaf, Hard of Hearing, KODA, hearing…all are welcome!
