Calling all dancing (and singing) queens (and kings)! Voice and Dance: Mamma Mia! celebrates the toe tapping and show stopping selections from the critically acclaimed Broadway musical. In this class, students work on two of the disciplines that make up musical theatre: singing and dancing! Dance technique focuses on Broadway-jazz style, while students develop flexibility, coordination, rhythm, and stage personality. Singing work addresses vocal placement, syncopated rhythms, and breathing while challenging students to stretch the range of their voices. These techniques are brought into the rehearsal process. The last day of class culminates in rehearsing two to three musical theatre songs with choreography performed in a final sharing for family and friends.
