This class introduces actors to the fundamental skills and techniques essential for the stage. Students explore the core elements of acting including voice projection, body language, character development, and relating to others in a truthful, authentic way. Students work in small groups on scenes in order to unpack the rehearsal process and begin to develop their actor’s process. Through a variety of engaging activities and exercises, participants learn how to harness their creativity, express themselves confidently, and collaborate effectively with their peers. Activities and scene work are shared with families on the final day of the semester. This class is an excellent preparatory course for students interested in auditioning for Acting Conservatory or the IStage Performance Ensemble or for anyone looking to better hone their craft.
