In Improvisation: Short Form, students explore short, unscripted scenes while making bold choices and taking creative risks. Improvisation encourages spontaneous character choices, quick thinking, and interesting conflict creation. Through a combination of theatre games and scenes, students further develop theatrical skills such as listening, confidence in choices, believability, timing, and teamwork, to develop intuitive (and usually funny!) performances. This class is excellent preparation for students interested in joining our Teen Improv Troupe when in high school. Classwork culminates in an informal sharing of improv scenes that showcase the skills students have developed throughout the semester.
