Get ready to hit the stage in Musical Theatre: Broadway’s Best. In this class, students learn the basics of musical theatre while performing some of Broadway's greatest hits. This class takes a fun approach to developing appropriate vocal technique, musicianship, and acting skills simultaneously. Students use their actors' tools (body, voice, mind, and imagination) to explore character-driven songs and scenes from some of the biggest shows on Broadway. The semester culminates in an informal sharing of two to three musical numbers from the Broadway cannon. Classroom sharings are a chance to showcase the foundational skills that students work to refine during their 14 week semester. Sharings provide an insightful and detailed look at the process of exploring and polishing performance techniques, and are a truly wonderful opportunity to catch a glimpse of the classroom experience at IStage.
