Live from Bethesda, it’s Wednesday Night! Dive into a world of hilarious skits, spontaneous improvisation, and side-splitting storytelling in Wednesday Night Live! Throughout the semester, students learn the art of sketch comedy, first looking at different forms of comedy, such as clowning and improvisation, then working on finely crafting jokes and performing with confidence. Students work together to create short comic scenes using their actor’s tools of body, voice, mind, and imagination. All should come prepared to learn and laugh! An informal sharing of student work is performed for families on the final day of the semester. Classroom sharings are a chance to showcase the foundational skills that students work to refine during their-14 week semester. Sharings provide an insightful and detailed look at the process of exploring and polishing performance techniques, and are a truly wonderful opportunity to catch a glimpse of the classroom experience at IStage.
