Scenes on Screen explores the process of filming larger group scenes, introducing complex blocking and dialogue sequences. Students collaborate with each other (both in front of and behind the camera), practice giving and receiving constructive criticism, and take on a leadership role in their own character development. Foundational skills are reviewed and developed, creating an actor’s process for walking onto a film set. Students also engage in exercises that help develop awareness of acting with regards to different camera angles, frames, and sequencing. This class culminates in a screening or live film work of short scenes and activities demonstrating the skills they have been learning throughout the class.
