Diving into the art of film scoring, this class explores how to elevate a story on screen with the use of music composition and production. During our 6 weeks, we take a look at how orchestration works; discuss how to work with directors; experiment with writing, mixing, and mastering scores; study the effects different instruments have on a film; and build our foundation of music theory.
This course is best for students who have a basic music foundation, such as reading sheet music or playing a musical instrument. Please contact Benjamin Kapit (digitalmedia@imaginationstage.org) with any questions.
