Lights, Camera, silliness! Grab your clown shoes and your spike tape as you explore comedy and camera work. Students should be prepared to laugh as they look at many kinds of comedy including improv, clowning, and sketch. Through performing improv games and short sketches, campers learn comedic necessities such as timing, character physicality, and stage presence. Young actors then learn how to adapt their comedy technique to the screen. Campers are introduced to a variety of exciting film-specific needs such as shooting scenes out of order (sequencing), blocking (consistency and hitting your mark), and film shots (adjusting for close-up shots and wide shots).
Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks. Week-long after-care is available (4:00-6:00 p.m.).
