Live from Bethesda, it’s time for camp! In this camp, our young artists become the writers of their own comedic scripts, providing the opportunity to write and perform their own comedy sketches in a supportive and encouraging environment. Students work collaboratively to create structured skits while further developing their own unique sense of humor. Through a combination of improv exercises and structured writing activities, students create SNL adjacent comedy sketches to be shot and filmed! Actors learn how to adapt their acting technique from stage to screen. Campers are introduced to a variety of exciting and challenging film-specific needs such as shooting scenes out of order (sequencing), blocking (consistency and hitting your mark), and film shots (adjusting for close-up shots and wide shots). Get ready to laugh, learn, and bring your unique comedic vision to life on screen
Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks. Week-long after-care is available (4:00-6:00 p.m.).
