WAITLIST 1692 Intro to Shakespeare & Stage Combat
Rising Grades 6-8
July 28-August 1
1 Week
9:00-4:00
Imagination Stage
$575
“Do you quarrel, sir?” Throughout the week, students explore the diverse characters of Shakespeare’s plays, the heightened story moments, and how he used language to tell the stories we still perform today. Acting exercises and character exploration come together as student performers take selected scenes from the page and onto the stage.
Camp afternoons focus on the techniques of staged fight choreography as campers learn the principles of safe physical interaction on stage and vocabulary of choreographed combat for the theatre. Campers develop physical discipline, focus, and a new medium of dramatic (or sometimes comedic!) storytelling. By the end of the week, campers present high energy scenes complete with stage fights to family and friends.
Campers provide their own nut-free lunch and snacks. Week-long after-care is available (4:00-6:00 p.m.).
