In this one-week intensive program, held in the state-of-the-art studios at American University’s Katzen Arts Center, campers work with professional teaching artists exploring a variety of acting techniques and material to take their performance skills to the next level. Throughout the day, campers are immersed in foundational acting work, character building, and scene analysis, as well as specialty subjects that enhance performance such as dialects, movement, or mask-work. Students apply their skills to the creation and rehearsal of a scene showcase performed on the last day of camp. Showcases offer an insightful look into the process of refining foundational skills over the 1-week camp, providing a glimpse into the camp experience at Imagination Stage.
