In this one-week intensive program, held in the state-of-the-art studios at American University’s Katzen Arts Center, teen performers dive into selections from the hit Broadway musical Into the Woods. Examining show structure and character backstory, students learn to bring a complete character to the stage. Lessons in vocal technique, dance vocabulary, and acting methods give students a diverse toolbox to draw from during the rehearsal process. Throughout the week, campers are able to develop their skills in acting, singing, and dance technique and further apply these skills to perform a selection of scenes and musical numbers from Into the Woods to share with friends and family on the last day of camp. This showcase offers an insightful look into the process of refining foundational skills over the 1-week camp, providing a glimpse into the camp experience at Imagination Stage.
