Improvisation: Short Form

10 weeks
Sundays, 9/23-12/2
Grades 6-8
Class #5760

Short, unscripted scenes and theatre games - such as those seen on “Whose Line is it Anyway?” - are considered short form improvisation. This class introduces students to a style of acting that encourages spontaneous characters, quick thinking, and interesting conflict choices. Students work in the format of games and scenes, which address important theatre skills such as listening, confidence of choices, believability, timing, and teamwork, to develop intuitive and exciting performers. This class is great preparation for students interested in auditioning for our high school level Teen Improv Troupe. An informal sharing of their work will be performed for families on the final day of the semester.
