Musical Theatre Performer's Lab

10 weeks
Thursdays, 6:30PM-8:00PM
Grades 9-12
Class #5765

This class builds skills in acting and singing - integrating them together for strong performances. Students learn techniques for creating sustainable and believable characters, while also building musicianship skills that are applied to scene and song work. Music training includes work in dynamics, ear training, and vocal placement. As the students apply their singing skills to ensemble-based musical numbers, they begin to look at the interpretation of text and music as an actor; motivating all movements on stage based on their character’s objective. An informal sharing of musical numbers will be performed for families on the final day of the semester.
